COEC Overview

The primary focus of the Community Outreach and Education Core (COEC) is to serve as a bridge between the CERH researchers and the communities in which they work.  To enhance the interactions of researchers with community members, outreach should facilitate transfer of complicated research results to a community.  This transfer should serve to promote health and prevent disease.  The Community Outreach and Education Core (COEC) of the Center for Environmental and Rural Health (CERH) has developed a program that provides a linkage between Center researchers and the communities in which they work.  More importantly, the COEC provides access for the community to improved information regarding health promotion.
