Goal and Aims

 

The goals of Community Outreach and Education Core of the CERH are: 1) to enhance the quality of CERH research involving human subjects and 2) to facilitate translation of environmental health information to communities and health care professionals. 

 The specific aims of the Community Outreach and Education Core are to:

1.  Provide outreach and education to communities where CERH researchers are conducting population studies; 

2.  Provide training and education to lay health workers (i.e., promotoras) who are supporting research activities in communities;

3.  Implement and assess health promotion activities in rural and underserved communities; and,

4.  Facilitate a more rapid transfer of research information to health care professionals through continuing education programs.
